Zone system and digital photography.

Seminar duration: 12 hours (3 x 4 hour classes)

Cost:

In this seminar, the presenter will analyze the techniques of the zone system, that Ansel Adams first worked on with astonishing results and its applications to digital photo shooting.

Zone system is a way of thinking before the photo shoot, that offers the photographer a pre-imaging of the photo.

More analytically, the following subjects will be covered:

 

  1. How the camera works

  2. Measuring with a light meter

  3. How we analyze the contrast of our subject

  4. How we perform the final exposition

  5. In which way can I visualize the subject before the final click

  6. Analysing the dynamic range of zone system

  7. Photoshooting using zone techniques

In this seminar, the participants will apply the zone system in portrait shooting as well as in landscape shooting.

Pinhole Photography

Seminar duration: 12 hours (3 x 4 hour classes)

 

Cost:

All materials, chemicals, printing papers and tools that will be needed for this seminar are included in the cost. In this seminar, the presenter will analyse the process of the manufacturing of a camera by recycled materials, such as various boxes or packaging materials, as well as how to take photos with this specific camera.

More analytically, the following subjects will be covered:

 

  1. Retrospect and analysis of the first efforts for the printing of Camera Obscura idol. The evolution from Camera Obscura to Pinhole Camera.

  2. How we can create a pinhole camera and how we define its characteristics (format, aperture and focal length)

  3. Principles and techniques of photographing using Pinhole camera.

  4. Conversion of a camera (film or digital) to pinhole camera.

  5. Different ways of printing and editing of the photo taken by the pinhole camera.

  6. Construction of a Pinhole Camera.

  7. Capturing and developing photos with Pinhole camera

 

The best photos will be presented in the Reflex Photographers site.

Macro Photography

Seminar duration 12 hours (3 x 4 hour classes)

 

Cost:

This seminar will introduce the participants to the magical world of macro photography. Analysis of basic principles of the macro photography.

In this seminar, the following subjects will be covered:

 

  1. Close-υρ range , macro range, extreme close-υρ range.

  2. Analysis of the equipment we need for macro photography

  3. Macro photography lens and extention tubes

  4. Lenses and control of depth of field

  5. Control of focus in macro photography

  6. Control of exposure in macro photography, basic principles of exposure.

  7. Flowers photographing

  8. Objects photographing

 

The participants of the seminar will take their own photos using the equipment that will be offered to them for free for the needs of this seminar.

Seminar of special techniques of electronic flash use

Seminar duration: 12 hours (3 x 4 hour classes)

 

Cost:

This seminar will offer the participant the opportunity to enter the magic world of electronic flash and its capabilities. Electronic flash is a valuable tool, both in professional applications and in the artistic field. Its right use gives endless possibilities, technically impeccable result, and art effects that are impossible to reproduce in a different way.

In this seminar, the following subjects will be covered:

 

  1. Fill in flash

The technique of fill-in flash is a professional technique that gives us the ability to clear the contrast of a photo and always have a perfect result. Using this technique, the photographers do not have to worry about “burnt skies” and the shadows that the sun causes in a portrait. The uses of this technique are many out of which the most important ones will be analyzed.

2)  Freeze of motion using electronic flash

The structure and function of electronic flash will be analyzed. The presenter will explain why flash is a tool for freezing time. Special techniques and equipment that is often used for this application will be presented.

3) Techniques of double exposure with electronic flash

4) Use of electronic flash with manual operation and in TTL.

Advantages and disadvantages of each technique. Comparison of results.

5) Color temperature correction with use of electronic flash.

Photomontage techniques seminar

Seminar duration: 8 hours (2 x 4 hours)

 

Cost:

 

All materials, chemicals, printing papers and tools that will be needed for this seminar are included in the cost. In this seminar, the presenter will show the collage technique that constitutes a basic technique for art photography.

In this seminar, the following subjects will be covered:

 

  1. Retrospect of photomontage technique. Dada movement and surrealism movement.

  2. Collage technique and montage in cinema. Collage and psychoanalysis.

  3. Techniques of creation of analog montage and the principles of copying to film

  4. Complex collage techniques, bi-coloring, dynamic techniques of darkroom

  5. Digitalisation of collage, editing in the computer. Basic principles of digital printing.

  6. Creation of a portfolio using collage techniques.

  7. Modern ways of presentation and basic principles for diorama creation.

Participants in this seminar will create their own collage and their own small portfolio. The best creations will be presented in the Reflex Photographers site.
