A short road trip

One day I took my camera, got into my car and started driving. I told myself that I would go to Kozani because there was a festival about mushrooms. I thought that I could make some photos for sure.  The day was great. The road was all mine. When i saw the sign that informed me about a monastery "Osios Nikanoros", up on the hill, I decided to spend some time there and take a look. After all, good photos can be everywhere.

When I got inside, a divine service was taking place. There were 3 monks and some citizens so i had to move around quietly. A few minutes later, I saw a monk next to the altar making a signal to me with his hands. I came close to him and then he asked me if I could take some photos! He didn't have to ask me twice.

When the mass finished and everyone left the holy place, I was standing in the kitchen with the three monks. They offered me lemonade and beer. We spoke for a while and before I leave I noted a phone number and an address so that I could send some photos by mail

I had just entered my car when my phone started to ring. It seemed that all of my friends were at the beach and I was the only one missing... The day was great. The road was all mine. I was driving and thinking. Extra cool, without a hurry and with my half hand out of the window, I turned back and met my friends at the beach.

P.S. I sent the photos and a few days later I called them on the number they gave me. It was one of the monks I had met. They had taken the pictures and were very happy. I was also invited to spend 24 hours at the monastery when ever I wanted and take photos during their daily life activities.
